"River's presence and thoughtfulness during my RFF Phallo recovery made a huge impact on my ability to heal. Starting when we first met months prior to my surgery, they were asking me questions and made suggestions that helped prepare me. They are a very active listener and I felt safe opening up to them about my concerns with being able to regulate my emotions during my recovery. They took this to heart and while we were together made efforts to proactively check in with where I was at emotionally. Encouraging me to take breaks, validating harder feelings that came up and making suggestions which allowed me to find joy in the process (we watched a lot of musicals and bonded about our love for movies & acting). They were really well prepared with supplies I hadn't thought about bringing (like band-aids, a phone cleaner, a step stool) and questions for the surgeon's team that helped me get information which impacted the success of my recovery. They advocated for me and my well-being every step of the way and it's had a profound impact on me, beyond just our time together. I feel better equipped to advocate for myself in medical settings and not be afraid to ask questions. They were very gentle and patient when it came to helping me shower. They made sure that I stayed on top of my medication schedule. They assisted me with getting in and out of bed and preparing meals. I would happily hire them again."

"River could not have been a better caregiver during my top surgery recovery. Even though I felt decently prepared beforehand, they instilled more confidence and offered great suggestions. River was very organized, flexible, attentive, and just a great presence during an intense life event. My meds schedule was, let’s say, not conducive to a good night’s sleep. They didn’t bat an eye getting up to keep me on track and just check in. They went above and beyond, even making sure I had a solid setup for days after leaving.
